Business Analyst / Iinsurance
Job Description:
A straight forward Business Analyst role, they are looking for 2 people with the same profile. One for the IT team and one for the Operations team.
Salary range is $85-$90k for IT team and $75-$80k for Operations team. It is unlikely for them to go above that range.
Candidates they like will be asked to come in directly for a face to face, first step is for them to take a critical thinking exam. If the candidate does not score at a level they expect then they are automatically rejected.
They want sharp, polished, professional people.
Ideally 5-7 years experience, but would consider someone 3-5 years.
They do not want to see Project Managers who say they will be BA’s.
They do not want to see professional consultants, or candidates who have job hopped, with many consulting gigs.
For IT team, candidate doesnt not have to have a hardcore technical background, they just need to be comfortable in an IT environment. So we could have candidates submitted that could be considered for either team.
The team this person will join has about 10-12 people.
Insurance experience a huge plus, but not a deal breaker.
the primary focus for this role is to work with the IT team to plan and execute a range of projects within the US business. It will require the production of a number of deliverables e.g. requirements specification, project plans and process maps. This is a *hands-on* role and will require the candidate to:
* Build strong productive relationships with the managers and staff within the business, across IT and other departments to deliver effective solutions based on a deep understanding of the business drivers for each party
* Conduct process reviews and produce process documentation, arrange and facilitate requirements workshops
* Timely delivery based upon agreed objectives
* Identify and resolve business, IT and other issues in order to ensure that projects can be delivered on time and within budget
* Produce project deliverables, such as requirements analysis and functional specifications to ensure consistency and clarity of brief between the stakeholders
* Management of suppliers to ensure delivery according to agreed objectives
* Conduct analysis to mitigate risk
* Identify problems and provide solutions as part of the project analysis work
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Arts/Sciences or post-graduate qualification in an analytical discipline is necessary
* Experience of working as a Business Analyst in an environment of multiple projects.
* Exposure to distributed teams and relationship building with stakeholders who may not be located within the same geographical area.
* Exposure to the full project life cycle, from inception to user acceptance testing and go-live.
* Have the ability to combine *soft* influencing, persuasion and consultancy skills with *leadership* qualities that will encourage business leaders to positively respond to questions, inquires and requests to meet deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within and external to the business.
* Creative, proactive, logical and innovative * you do not accept the status quo.
* Highly results driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a very fast paced environment where the pace of response and leadership is critical to success.
* Demonstrate a commitment to quality, service and problem management.
* Insurance knowledge or experience a plus, but not a deal breaker
